  • 1 1/4 cup boiling water
  • 1 cup Quick Quaker Oats
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • pinch Salt
  • 1 1/3 cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon soda
  • Topping
  • 6 tablespoon melted butter
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup condensed milk
  • 1 cup Coconut
  • 1/2 cup pecans

  • 1 1/4 cup boiling water

Instructions
  1. Pour boiling water over oatmeal and let set
  2. Cream shortening, sugars, eggs and salt
  3. Add sifted flour, cinnamon, soda and oatmeal
  4. Put in a 9-inch x 15-inch pan and bake 350 for 35 minutes
  5. Topping
  6. Melt butter, add remaining ingredients and stir together
  7. Spread topping on top and put back in oven until top is browned.

When Debbie had her bridal shower in 1973 everyone was to bring a favorite recipe. She received this recipe from both her mom and her future mother-in-law Vonnie. A family favorite.

  5. Bake 350 for 45 to 50 minutes
  6. Frost with cream cheese frosting. Sprinkle top with chopped nuts.

  • Miniature marshmallows
  • Strawberry jelly
  • Coconut
  • Angel Mallow Frosting or other
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 egg whites
  • 2 tablespoon water

Instructions
  1. Bake one 9-inch x 13-inch cake of your choice
  2. Cool 10 minutes and remove from pan
  3. Trace Easter Bunny pattern onto paper. Place Easter Bunny Cake Pattern on cake cut cake along the outline.
  4. Place bunny cake on tray
  5. Attach tail to bunny with wooden picks
  6. Frost bunny completely with pink Angel Mallow Frosting (or another frosting)
  7. Reserve some frosting for a deeper pink and frost center strip of ear and whiskers.
  8. Use marshmallows for nose and eye, decorate eye and mouth with strawberry jelly
  9. For daisies, cut Kraft Jet-Puffed Marshmallows crosswise into petals on the cake in a daisy design. Use miniature marshmallows for centers. Use mint jelly for stems. Cut miniature marshmallows crosswise for leaves.
  10. Angel Mallow Frosting
  11. Combine sugar, egg whites, and water in double boiler
  12. Beat with electric or rotary beater over boiling water until soft peaks form
  13. Add marshmallow cream, beat to stiff peaks
  14. Remove from heat, beat in 1/2 teaspoon vanilla and few drops of red food coloring.

Instructions
  1. Sift flour once, measure, add other dry ingredients and sift together 3 times.
  2. Cut fruits and nuts leaving them in rather large pieces.
  3. Dust the fruit with 1/2 cup of the flour mixture.
  4. Cream the butter and brown sugar; add marmalade and mix well.
  5. Stir in one cup flour mixture.
  6. Alternate the fruit juice and rest of flour, stir until smooth.
  7. Fold in the well-beaten eggs.
  8. Add fruits and nuts.
  9. Bake in 2 loaf or tube pan lined well with waxed paper. 3 to 4 hours in low oven (275)
  10. Place a shallow pan of water on the bottom of the oven for moisture.
