Ingredients
- 1 1/4 cup boiling water
- 1 cup Quick Quaker Oats
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- pinch Salt
- 1 1/3 cup flour
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon soda
- Topping
- 6 tablespoon melted butter
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup condensed milk
- 1 cup Coconut
- 1/2 cup pecans

Instructions
- Pour boiling water over oatmeal and let set
- Cream shortening, sugars, eggs and salt
- Add sifted flour, cinnamon, soda and oatmeal
- Put in a 9-inch x 15-inch pan and bake 350 for 35 minutes
- Topping
- Melt butter, add remaining ingredients and stir together
- Spread topping on top and put back in oven until top is browned.

When Debbie had her bridal shower in 1973 everyone was to bring a favorite recipe. She received this recipe from both her mom and her future mother-in-law Vonnie. A family favorite.
