Ingredients
- 1 stick butter
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 3 eggs
- 2 cup cake flour
- 3 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Salt
- 1 cup Milk
- vanilla
- Icing
- 2 cup sugar
- 2 cup water
- 2 beaten egg whites
- vanilla

Instructions
- 1 stick of butter (softened) Cream well.
- Add ¾ cup sugar slowly and cream together.
- Add 3 eggs and beat well.
- Sift flour – measure 2 cups cake flour. Add 3 Tablespoons baking powder, 1/8 teaspoon salt and sift three times.
- Add slowly to butter and sugar – a little flour first and last – alternately with 1 cup milk. Add vanilla, beat well.
- Pour into 8” layer pans and bake 20 minutes
- Icing
- 2 cup sugar
- 2 cup water
- Stir well – boil until spins thread
- add slowly to 2 beaten egg whites beating continually
- Add vanilla
